FEBRUARY & MARCH NEWSLETTER 2012

 February & March 2012

Dear Brothers & Sisters in Christ,

It is so good to be back in Venezuela and Colombia! What a blessing it was to find Harvest Ministries going well and to receive a wonderful new home! Zuleny and Nestor Romero are building a large home and they fixed us a 3 room apartment with a private entrance on the first floor of there home. Their home is not completed but ours is. Our home has indirect lighting in our bedroom and it has beautiful curtains. It has molding throughout the apartment, first we’ve seen in VZ, and we have a new gas stove and the bathroom, kitchen and wash area has ceramic tile on the walls. The shower has a fancy high shower head for Seale and a shorter one for Marcia. It is a gift to us. The goodness of God cannot be measured!

                                               COLOMBIA
The word of God says “He will surround us with favor as with a shield” and the favor for the ministry was in Colombia for Harvest Ministries when we went to start 3 Bible Schools. The Pastor in Pailitas paid for our hotel and provided meals for us while in Pailitas. The Pastor is so thankful we would have another school in his Church and he shared testimonies of how the school had changed lives of some people we know.   He said there are many schools that teach the Word but our school is different because it has the Word and the Spirit. The Word and the Spirit changes lives. He told the students they would be changed when they completed the school. This is the 4th school we have had in Pailitas. The Pastors graduated from the first school we had in Pailitas.  Harvest Ministries Bible Training Center began in Pailitas on March 6 with 26 students and with our new director, Marelbis Torres Rodriguez.

Aracataca and El Reten provided our lodging and food while we were there and they will also provide it for the teachers. It is a very difficult schedule for the teachers. El Reten’s first level school ends at 5:30pm and Aracataca’s second level school begins at 6:30pm and it is 30 minutes from El Reten by motorcycle and a little longer by the  bus/motorcycle. (you have to get a motorcycle to get to the bus). We will train teachers for that area from Aracataca when they finish the second level. Aracataca has 25 students and El Reten has 24.

Aracataca has tourist visit the town to see the home of Gabriel Garcia Márquez Nobel  Prize winner in literature in 1982

HMI had 22 people saved in February. We had 13 men saved in the Farm churches and 9 saved in Japreria Indian Village Church.

HMI has had many people saved in the Farm Churches but getting them in the water to be baptized is very difficult. We walked a mile to the river in 100 degree temperature for water baptism at Puerto Leon farm. God blessed us with clouds, which were greatly appreciated, as we looked for a place in the river the men were not afraid to get into. The current is pretty strong and most cannot swim and are afraid of the current and the fresh water sting raysPraise God we had 3 men that took the plunge and came up rejoicing. More men came to the river to be baptized but would not get in the water. It was a fun day of fellowship as we returned to the farm for lunch. The churches on the farms continue to reach the lost and make disciples.

It has been over 100 degrees in Venezuela and Colombia! We are doing a lot of walking in both  countries and Marcia is so thankful for her new knee and her ability to walk and do things again. God is so good!

The Japreria Indian Village’s 3 children’s churches are just amazing. Their ability to answer question from the Bible is awesome. They give many testimonies of answered prayer. One  child shared a testimony of how God protected her from a tiger. The adult church is going through a time of adjustment as new leaders are being trained. The praise and worship is very special and there is a strong anointing especially when they sing in their own language.

Iglesia de la Cosecha, (Church of the Harvest), and other areas of ministry are growing in faith and who they are in Christ.

We are very thankful to each person that gave financially, prayed, provided medicine, clothes, books other items for the ministry. You are helping people in need and training people to reach the harvest and make disciples. Thank you!

If you are not a partner with us we encourage you to join with us this year to take the love of Jesus in areas where others do not go.
